Avery Minor
Based in South Bend, IN, Avery Minor & Temples of Praise are the vessels of God ministering
through music to edify our Lord Savior Jesus Christ and deliver a message of hope, love, & joy to
the world in an effort to promote the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Originally from San Antonio, TX, Avery Minor II began playing the piano at the age of 10. By the
age of 12 he was able to fluently read music and play by ear. His first job as a church musician
came when he was 14 at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of South Bend, IN where he still
serves today as Director of Music. Since then he has played for various churches, community choirs and groups.
He has also played for national recording artist such as; Mississippi Mass Childrens Choir, Canton
Spirituals Dwayne Watkins Group. He has never thought of himself a great musician but he will
always give you the best that he's got.
In 2003, Avery beginning writing his own songs, a gift he knows only came from God.
"He who finds a wife finds a good thing" (Proverbs 18:22) In April 2004, Avery married his better
half, Arear. They are blessed with four beautiful children Kristen, Kristoffer, Avery III, and
Kristlynn. Arear has played a vital role in Avery's music ministry. When he wanted to give up she
was right there to pick him up and give him the encouragement that he needed.
With the help of his wife he formed the group Temples of Praise in 2006. A group consisting of
family and friends and dynamic voices! The group has been sought for engagements since their
debut appearance and have shared the stage with grammy nominated Vicky Winans. The group is
presently preparing for their debut album, "The Church Musician Project", which will be released in the spring of 2009!It is the vision of Avery to provide a sound of praise unto the Lord that is
attainable by any skill level of church music ministries. With its simplicity, comes a deep
