Mary Wynn
Mary Ann Wynn is a native of Saginaw, Michigan and currently lives in Detroit, Michigan. Music has been in her life since the age of nine. While growing up, she began to play, direct, and sing in various choirs. Following high school, she enrolled in Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, after receiving a full tuition talent scholarship. Mary earned a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Music Education in December of 1995, and later received a Master’s degree in Education Administration in August of 2000. She currently serves as a member of the Dorinda Clark-Cole Singers & Musicians Choir and the Minister of Music for Scott Memorial UMC. After being selected to perform before a live studio audience as one of five finalists of the “Revlon Gospel Diva Search” on the nationally syndicated Bobby Jones Gospel Program, Mary began to write her own music. In May 2004, her debut project, “Take One Look,” was released. With this project, she was inspired to write six of the songs. The 1st release from this album “Take it Away” is still in rotation on various radio stations and it’s still a common request when Mary ministers in song.
Mary has been fortunate to travel and minister in song in many Gospel events such as, “The Bobby Jones Gospel Retreat” in Las Vegas, Nevada and the “Gospel Super Fest” in Atlanta, Georgia. She also had the privilege of opening for CeCe Winans in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Shirley Caesar in Saginaw, Michigan. Mary also ministered in song at the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) National Convention in Tampa, Florida. Singing for the Kick-Off Celebration at the 2004 Stellar Awards in Houston, Texas was truly an unforgettable experience. She also had the honor of winning the New Artist Showcase Best Soloist Award from the Dorinda Clark-Cole Singers & Musicians Conference 2005. As of now, Mary has completed her sophomore project entitled Reflections. This project truly demonstrates the gift God has given Mary to share with others. It shares her personal experiences and is sure to encourage others. The inspiring message, exceptional musical style, and uninhibited praise and worship of this project were realized in a Live Recording November of 2007. The Reflections project was released May 27, 2008. It is certainly a genuine and clear reflection of Mary.
Mary is driven by her love for the Lord and she is thankful for his grace and mercy. “To God be the glory for the things he has done!”
